Why men lose weight faster than women

When it comes to losing weight, women stand at a disadvantage as compared to men. Scientists say that women accumulate fat quicker than men and lose it far more slowly. Women naturally have more body fat, even though as new borns both start out the same i.e. body fat totalling up to 12% of body weight. During puberty girls get fatter and boys become leaner.

Fat also settles differently on men and women. Men tend to store fat around their bellies where as woman store fat on their hips and thighs. Men lose weight faster because they tend to have more muscle than women. But there are ways of achieving an ideal body weight by changing your diet.

Three ways to fiber up your diet:

Whole dals like kabuli channa, black channa, green channa, moong, matki are rich in fiber. Sprout them, steam them and eat them for breakfast. They help reduce your appetite and fill you up, apart from providing loads of cancer fighting phytonutrients.

Eat sliced raw tomatoes in between meals. Tomatoes help your body produce Lcarnitine (an amino acid which helps boost your metabolic rate). They provide vitamin C, lycopene and loads of satiety.
Steam/ microwave sweet potatoes for about 5 minutes and eat them hot. Contrary to popular belief they are not fattening. Eat them with the skin.

Fiber is found in whole grains, wheat germ, wheat bran, brown rice, oat bran, isabgol, whole fruits and vegetables. There are no fattening foods. We develop fattening metabolisms by consuming refined foods. The food may get stored as fat or utilised as energy depending upon your hormones, enzymes and fat handling capacity of your body organs.

Your health status, immunity, energy levels, percentage of body fat, lean body mass, (muscle) are more important in determining your rate of weight loss rather than the number of calories you consume. If you eat by counting calories, chances are you may lose your weight, looks and health as well. If you eat according to your body’s constitution, you can eat large quantities of (correct) food without feeling guilty and also lose weight.

    This book is truly remarkable! I did the 10-day Master Cleanse in May with only the information I got online from Stanley Burrough’s book. I had so many questions and nowhere to get the answers until I heard about Peter Glickman’s book, “Lose Weight, Have More Energy, and Be Happier in 10 Days”.     For over a year I have been searching for something to help get my life back in shape. Although weight wasn’t a big issue for me I was more concerned about how I felt, mostly concerned about not having energy and always craving sweets. Well I was wrong, I have just recently completed The Master Cleanse for 14 days. I haven’t had this much energy and felt this good in years. I would not recommend anyone do a cleanse without first reading “The Master Cleanser” by Stanley Burroughs which will explain the cleanse but just as important is “Lose Weight, Have More Energy, Be Happier in 10 Days” by Per Glickman’s which is the support you will need to understand everything that will happen as you complete the cleanse. I have just ordered my own copies of both books because I know this will be a book I will want to keep and refer to for my next cleanse.
