The findings presented at ECCO- ESSMO European Cancer Congress estimates that 70,000 cases of cancer in Europe in 2002 could be attributed to excess body weight. In 2008, the number was 1,24,050. Almost 8.6 per cent of cancer attributed to obesity was in women and 3.2 per cent in men. Endometrial cancer, post menopausal breast cancer and colorectal cancer, together account for 65 per cent of all cancers that could be attributed to obesity. Obesity is the single major cause heart disease, blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes. Although no type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that don’t respond to traditional weight-loss methods.Keyhole Liposuction is a procedure that can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. One can lose six to 12 kgs after surgery. It is a simple procedure where the fat below the skin is sucked out by the machine, no fat is flushed through the kidney, no body organs are touched by the two small inserted tubes below the skin. With one day’s rest you can go back to your normal routine. This method has been practiced by the medical fraternity for over 40 years. One can lose another five to 10 kgs or more depending on your body weight in the next three months. The results are mostly permanent as long as you lead a healthy lifestyle.

Today a number of new techniques, to provide selected patients with more precise results and quicker recovery time is available. Very often, many different areas can be treated during a single operation. The results can be dramatic, saddlebags may disappear, legs and hips become thinner and shapelier, the stomach becomes flatter and firmer and double chins can be sucked away.

You will see a noticeable difference in the shape of your body quite soon after surgery. Improvement will be even more apparent after four to six weeks, when most of the swelling has subsided. After a month, any persistent mild swelling usually disappears and the final contour will be visible.
