It is so pathetic to see the jawans, who spend sleepless nights fighting for the country, on the streets. Who is responsible? In the first place, let us blame the authorities concerned who had asked the jawans to protect the Taj, but could not provide them with basic amenities. Let us not forget that we enjoy our life at the cost of these jawans who protect the country from all kinds of threats.

The accommodation plight of the jawans is indeed deplorable. Lack of planning in providing space to the jawans, speaks volumes on the slipshod arrangement by the authorities. A year has passed since that horrific terror attacks, but to our great dismay, till date, there is still enough room for improving this hugely lacking security system to combat that scale of devastation, if it recurs.

It is a shame that the security personnel put on duty to protect the Taj hotel are being treated this way. These are the people who are prepared to lay down their lives to protect us. They should be provided A-class accommodation with showers and privacy near the Gateway of India. Our politicians should learn how cops and security personnel are treated in developed countries. One feels ashamed at how we treat our security personnel. We simply refuse to learn and improve.
